About
Denver’s comedy scene is booming. From open-mic nights to local showcases, debates and film screenings, Denver’s got the comedy goods and the city’s talent is improving at a rapid pace, with many comics getting booked nationally in comedy festivals and several have appeared on popular television shows.
Unfortunately, aspiring comedians in the Springs have had little to no opportunity to “practice their craft” or test out new material in front of real audiences, which puts them at a serious disadvantage when compared to their fellow Denver comics, and has done little to bolster the comedy scene in Colorado Springs. Local area residents have not had much to choose from besides making the trip up to Denver to attend a comedy show.
Long-time Springs resident and comedian, Tim McKenna, recognized a need in the community and begun work to promote comedy shows at a variety of venues in hopes to strengthen the overall comedy scene and provide our city with better access to top-quality entertainment. McKenna’s ColoradoSpringsComedy.com touts itself as being “the best source for stand-up comedy info in the Pikes Peak Region” and is updated regularly with show information, videos and photos provided by local comedians and other talent.
